Hang verses on Paintings

Here is an example of how to hang a passage from the bible on a painting so aid recalling the text months/ years later.

I have selected Watteau’s painting ‘the scale of love’ as an example of how to memoize one of the Servant passages from Isaiah.

Here is Isaiah 42

Behold my servant, whom I uphold,
    my chosen, in whom my soul delights;
I have put my Spirit upon him;
    he will bring forth justice to the nations.
He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
    or make it heard in the street;
a bruised reed he will not break,
    and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
    he will faithfully bring forth justice.
He will not grow faint or be discouraged
    till he has established justice in the earth;
    and the coastlands wait for his law.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold,

The GUITAR serves the young man in his love song. He holds it up.

my chosen, in whom my soul delights;

Chosen sounds looks like SHOE

Soul sounds like SOLE

I have put my spirit upon him;

Imagine a pink dove descends on his wonderful hat.

he will bring forth justice to the nations.

She sings (brings) a fourth( forth)

He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,or make it heard in the street;

Loudly

She has a v shape below her voicebox

a bruised reed he will not break,
    and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;

She sits on a bruised reed

A faintly burning wick candle goes out

he will faithfully bring forth justice

She gives birth to four Justins

He will not grow faint or be discouraged

He goes outside into the garden ( grow)to get help and falls over faint.

till he has established justice in the earth;

Till the ground – establishes a juniper bush in the earth

and the coastlands wait for his law.

The couple drive to the coast to see his in-laws
